Producer's Voice
Half-Minute Hero immediately intriqued me when I saw the original version announced,
long before I joined MarvelousAQL.
Here was a game that took the tropes of the JRPG
- a genre that has grown stale in many gamers' minds - and turned them around,
cramming full adventures worth of stories we've all played into 30 seconds.
The fact that most RPGs are 40-hour-plus grind fests and sometimes accomplish less
in terms of character development,
humor, and enjoyment just adds to the irony.
However, there's nothing mocking about Half-Minute Hero.
The game is simultaneously parody and homage,
with an adorable art style that reminds you of the years you spent playing
the games from which it draws its lineage and feeling attached to
characters made up of only a handful of pixels.
Now, with Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy,
we bring the best version of the game ever made to the greatest gaming device on the planet:
the PC.
A whole new audience can enjoy the witty banter and fresh gameplay of the game,
and do it for less cost and hassle than if it were released on another platform.
I'm proud to be a small part of bringing this game to the PC
and making it the best version we could, for fans both old and new.
